"The new owner of Montauk's most famous shark-fishing boat says the Cricket II won't be leaving port for a year, but that hasn't stopped locals in their quest to keep the vessel here permanently.
Jon Dodd, a longtime friend of legendary Cricket II owner and captain Frank Mundus, said repairs alone will keep the boat in Montauk for a year. Mundus, who died in September at age 82, is believed to have been an inspiration for the character Quint in the book and movie 'Jaws.'"
