"The ASV Roboat with hybrid engine and solar panels mounted on board, will cross the Atlantic. At the beginning of the year, the boat won the World Robotic Sailing Champioship where the hybrid engine has proved more competitive than traditional ones.
The engine batteries are loaded directly from the sun and the helm is controlled by a Linux OS computer. Once the destination parameters are entered, the computer calculates the route based on information and others environmental sensors. The computer chooses the fastest path."
