"SAN PEDRO - The Los Angeles Har bor Commission has awarded a construction contract to Griffith Co. and the Dutra Group to build new Cabrillo Way Marina facilities. It will be the first new recreational marina at the Port of Los Angeles in 22 years.
The $130 million project to construct the new recreational marina calls for 700 boat slips and new concrete docks with water, power, telephone and television hookups.
The marina has been in the planning stage for several years before the engineering firm Mofatt & Nichol announced its completion of designs for the marina on Aug. 12. The company said the marina designs will provide a “vibrant village atmosphere for recreation marine and boating activities” that bring locals and tourists together."
