America's Cup trophy to visit Anacortes

A well kept secret last year in my home port. I wonder how much of the 138 million dollar project was spent locally? "The America's Cup trophy, shown here during a reception in San Diego earlier this week, will be brought to Anacortes for a visit, probably in early April, according to Mayor Dean Maxwell. The winning boat, build here by BMW Oracle Racing, won the cup in races off Valencia, Spain earlier this month.

Maxwell says he's working with Cord Builders, the Chamber of Commerce and EDASC, The Economic Development Agency of Skagit Council, for some kind of public event, probably on April 10. But, he stressed the date could change as plans aren't locked up yet."
